Impaired Driver Arrested For Crashing FedEx Truck Into Houma Home

A FedEx driver is in custody and accused of being under the influence when he rammed his truck into a house in Houma.

Police responded after 4 p.m. Tuesday to the crash on Mary Hughes Drive. They say the truck ran off the road and smashed into the front of the house.

The residents were home, but nobody was injured.

Officers say the driver, 31-year-old Michael Smith, was found with an open alcoholic beverage, marijuana, and Tramadol.

Smith is charged with drug possession, reckless operation, DWI, and resisting arrest.
