Hurricane Ida Makes Landfall In Louisiana Leaving Devastation In Its Wake

The City of Baker is collecting items for survivors of Hurricane Ida in LaPlace.

There are two drop-off locations for donated goods, at the New Journey Worship Center on Main Street, and at the Baker High School auditorium parking lot on Groom Road.

Needed items include nonperishable foods, warm clothing, women's and men's toiletries, children's clothes, toys, bedding, paper towels, tissue, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, and work gloves.

Donations will be accepted until Friday of this week.
