Baton Rouge Man Who Went On Killer Crime Spree In 2017 Sentenced To Prison

The man who went on a crime spree across Baton Rouge in 2017 that claimed the life of two people is heading to prison.'

On Monday, a jury sentenced Kenneth Gleason to life in prison after unanimously convicting him for the murder of Donald Smart.

Gleason murdered Smart, a longtime employee of Baton Rouge's Louie Café, and was also accused of shooting up the home of a Black family and murdering Bruce Cofield, a homeless Black man.

Prosecutors said Gleason's crimes were racially motivated, and he was hunting random Black people.
