One route to a higher education is going away in Baton Rouge, as well as in Shreveport-Bossier City impacting hundreds of students.

Education Corporation of America, the parent company of Virginia College, confirmed yesterday that the school's two Louisiana campuses, along with its 73 other campuses across the nation will be shut down before Christmas.

Declining enrollment and shrinking income are said to have led to the decision by the for-profit operation.
