Governor Wants Tax Breaks For State's Flood Victims

Torrential Rains Bring Historic Floods To Southern Louisiana

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards says he can't wrap his head around Congress not approving a tax relief package for victims of last year's historic flooding. He says more than 193,000 homes and businesses were damaged in South Louisiana.

Lawmakers approved a tax relief package for victims of this year's three major hurricanes.

Senator John Kennedy says he's onboard with trying to obtain similar tax relief for the August 2016 flood victims.
