The Baton Rouge policeman who struck and killed a pedestrian this week is identified.
Baton Rouge police said yesterday Corporal Frederick Thorton was behind the wheel of an unmarked cruiser that hit a 42-year-old man Tuesday on Florida Boulevard. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Thorton was placed on paid administrative leave. The incident remains under investigation.
