The Marksville Police Lieutenant convicted of manslaughter in the death of a six-year-old autistic boy last week is sentenced to 40 years in prison.
The jury deliberated just three hours before delivering a guilty verdict against Derrick Stafford. Stafford and another officer fired several shots at the vehicle driven by Chris Few.
When they opened his door they found six-year-old Jeremy Mardis dead in his bullet riddled car seat.
